NESA develops, adapts and delivers technology and digital products to support

• improved students learning outcomes, and
• the quality and effectiveness of teaching
  

Any education digital product introduced by NESA undergoes research, trial and consultation.

Teaching and learning applications

Program Builder – primary and secondary teachers

Program Builder uses content from the NSW syllabuses allow teachers to create scope and sequences and units.

Online examining and testing

MarkManager

Developed for the HSC, MarkManager automates the workflow of on-screen marking to provide an end-to-end assessment solution for certifying authorities, awarding bodies and other educational and testing institutions.

HSC Minimum Standard test – Years 10 – 12

Over 75,000 minimum standard tests have been successfully delivered to schools across NSW.

Science Extension HSC online exam – Year 12

2019 HSC students studying the new Science Extension course will be the first in NSW to complete their HSC exam online.

Students will use a computer connected to the internet which will 'lock-down' during the exam. All the information and tools needed to answer the questions will be provided in the exam window.

NAPLAN Online – Years 3, 5, 7 and 9

To date 233,000 NAPLAN tests have been sat online in NSW. NESA is the TAA for the NAPLAN tests and responsible for supporting schools in conducting them.

Critical Thinking Test trial – Year 11

The first formal trials for a Critical Thinking test were in August 2016 and provided feedback on skills such as analysis, inference, interpretation, problem solving and evaluation. The results from the successful trial will be included in the NSW Curriculum Review.
